Are you carrying stress walking through, a pandemic, adjusting to working from home, caring for an elderly parent,  a special needs child, a consuming job, difficult relationship you are navigating?  

It seems like we are always grasping for something to stay afloat…. 
In the meantime, we fall through; exhausted with one nostril above the waves.

Our own health suffers, our view is foggy, relationships suffer, marriage is strained as we juggle and cope. 
We feel like we have been run over by a semi-truck a few times…
And we live life with an empty cup, trying to eek one more drop out of the cup.

Our friendships, relationships, conversations, are mostly centered around the weight of the latest storm we are in.
The situations on the front burner are sizzling. 
We view everything through stress filled glasses.
Always reaching and grasping. 
All the while our own knees are wobbling, and we are trying to support without ever feeling like “we’ve got this”
This IS our story.  Is it yours?

Who are you shining for?

Who are you shining for?
I read a story about a lighthouse keeper who worked on a rocky stretch of coastline.
Once a month he would receive a new supply of oil to keep the light burning so ships could safely sail near the rocky coast.

One night, though, a woman from a nearby village begged him for oil to keep her family warm.
Another time, a man asked for some oil to use for his lamp.
Another came and asked for oil to lubricate his wheels.
Since all the requests were legitimate, the light keeper tried to please everyone and grant the requests of all of them.

Towards the end of the month, the man noticed his supply of oil was getting very low.  
His light went out.   
As a result, that night several ships were wrecked and many lives were lost.
When the authorities came to investigate, he shared with them about all the people he was trying to help.   Their reply to his excuses was simple and to the point.  "you were given oil for one purpose-- to keep that light burning!"

When was the last time you took a minute to think about why you do what you do?   
What is it that guides your choices and makes the decision to carry out your actions each day? 

Our world is roaring with needs and events and noise.
It's easy to get distracted by things shouting around us.   
There are so many needs, we can lose sight of the purpose God has imprinted inside us.
Hit the pause button.
Who is  your light shining for?    
A lot of people you may never meet are depending on your light

How's your aim?

How's your aim?
 
 
When you crack open a bottle of Young Living essential oils you will discover a lot of WOW.   
One of the WOWs is the orifice reducer.
The what?   Stay with me. 

This is the silicone top that is there to help you adjust how much oil comes out of the bottle.  
 
It is a big deal.    
 
Young Living makes the best orifice reducers in the industry, hands down.   
It's the little things that underline integrity over and over and over.     
 
Silicone will not deteriorate and will not leach into your oils
This amazing little piece allows one drop to come out.   
 
You see, Young Living uses orifice reducers that are unlike any you can find in the world.   
The oil drips from the tiny hole to the SIDE of the main center hole.  
The center hole let’s the air in.     
 
The small holes are why you can control the drip from a Young Living bottle.   
Other oil companies have the oil come out the center.    
    
This makes it much harder to control how often the oil gets either stuck and you have to shake the bottle to get any out or the oil pours out too fast.  
Shaking the bottle is easy to do partly due to habit and hurry.  
 
It is a big deal with our oils because when we shake the bottle it forces oxygen molecules to mix with the oil.   This shortens the shelf life.   
So get in the habit of rolling the bottle between your hands, and turning the bottle so the little hole is down.   
Don’t ‘help’ the oil come out.   
Pause…..
 
Ready for a tip or two?  
When you crack open your bottle, locate the tiny hole and draw a arrow or dot by it so that you can find it next time.   This will help a ton when you are aiming for a capsule and want the oil to gather inside and not on your hands or the sides.     
 
When you are using thick oils—such as Vetiver or Myrrh, remember to put the oil bottle in your pocket or bra for a few minutes to warm it up.   
This might not be an issue in the summertime as much as it is in the winter, or if you live in a warm climate.  
But, it Minnesota it is a big deal! 
 
I have been known to wait over a minute waiting for one precious drop of Vetiver to come out.   
I LOVE Vetiver in the diffuser at night.   
Most nights I fall asleep on God while Dave is praying.   
He says God doesn’t mind….
So, waiting for those drops might take minutes, but, patience is a virtue right?   
We all need more of it.   
And, yes, it is when you are waiting for the gold that happens with each drop.  
And in the end, it is so worth it.   
 
After all, we can't hurry gold. 
That drop may make the difference between sleep and counting sheep.  
It sure does for me.   
So, I will wait and choose to aim better.

"I don’t do scents…"

"I don’t do scents…"
Have you had someone tell you that they are ‘sensitive to scents, or can’t do scents’ before?   
It is a common comment.

I just smile... because they just don't know.   
I came into this not knowing either.   
 
The reason they don’t 'do scents' is because they have smelled synthetic fragrances, and their body is screaming NO!!! 

They interpret that no into ‘I don’t do scents’
Our bodies are amazing.    
They  just know.    
God built them that way.   
The more you are around pure, that more your body will be happy.    
Inside and out.
 
Here is my response.   
" What happens when you cut open an orange?   
Does your body react to the scent? "   
In 7 years, I have never had anyone say yes to this question.  
Not one time.  
Of course not!   Why?    
Because the orange is pure.    Nothing added.
 
Enter Young Living.   Same thing.    Lovingly placed inside a brown bottle just for you.

The tub?

The tub?
Do you want to hear a some somewhat disgusting facts about your bathtub? 
Yep. That’s right. 
The place that you are supposed to get clean may not be that clean itself. 
There was a recent Texas A&M University study found that staphylococcus bacteria was in 26% of the bathtubs that they tested. 
Almost all tubs showed bacteria from fecal matter. 
Then a majority found fungi. 
Probability went up for all these findings if it was a whirlpool tub. 
No more information is really needed for me to figure out how to keep the tub free from being part of these disgusting facts. What about you? 
We already know Thieves Household Cleaner is an amazing product and it can be used in a few ways to keep your tub fecal-free. 

First, you can make a Thieves Soft Scrub. 
This helps gets the grime out of your tub. 
Take ¾ cup of Thieves Household Cleaner, 3 cups of baking soda, 30 drops of Lemon essential oils, and if desired 1 TBSP of vinegar. 
Use this to scrub out the difficult areas. It also can help with hard water spots. 

Second, you can fill up a refillable scrubbing brush with 2 TBS of Thieves Dish Soap, 3 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner, and then water. 
Keep in your tub/shower and use as often as needed! 

And third, make up a glass spray bottle with 2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner and 10 drops of Purification. Fill with water. Shake and spray between showers/baths. 

Keep the place you need to get clean, truly clean itself!

You only get one pair....

You only get one pair....
We are asking a lot of our feet...
They willingly take us wherever we tell them to go and in the process encounter a lot of stress. 
A reminder to take better care of them for us all!   
I saw a 2014 survey that was taken where 8 out of 10 Americans have experienced a foot problems (https://www.apma.org/files/APMA2014TodaysPodiatristSurveyAllFindings.pdf
 
One noted that they found that most people don’t care for their feet as much as other parts of their bodies…. 
We oilers are different.   
We are learning a different way!   
We know that the our feet have over 3000 pores ready and waiting for oils!
 
So how can we up our game and take better care of our feet? 
 
If your feet are used daily (which they probably are!), give them a little TLC daily.      
Daily equals consistency....

Don’t wear too tight of shoes. 
Comfortable shoes are worth the health of your feet.     A couple of summers ago, I had a big foot issue that meant only 1 pair of sandals worked for 6 months or so.   I then discovered the meaning of comfort first over cute.   
 
Try on the Legs-Up-On-The-Wall Yoga pose after a long day.  Start with a few minutes and work your way up. 
 
Take care of your feet. You’ve only got one pair! 😉

The great day protocol was created by Gary Young, and oh.... if you haven't made it a daily practice for yourself-- you are in for a life changing treat!   

Have your Valor, Harmony, Joy, and White Angelica essential oil blends readily available. Keep these in a place where they will easily be seen so that you're able to practice daily.

1) VALOR
Apply a few drops in the palm of your left hand, gently rub your palms together, and bring your oiled palms to your nose and inhale. Set your intention for the day, utilizing the grounding properties of this blend. 
Next, put some Valor on the back of your neck and then place another drop on the inside of your wrists and hold your wrist together for a moment. As you hold the pulse points of your wrists together, again breathe in the oil blend and take a moment to be still while affirming your intentions for the day. What state of being would you like to cultivate? What do you want to accomplish today?

2) HARMONY
Place a drop of Harmony on your left palm, rub your palms together, inhaling the oil blend and place some Harmony on your solar plexus, just below your sternum, and above your belly button.  As you inhale the aroma, consider speaking words of affirmations such as,  "Give me eyes to see harmony in everything I do and see today." You may have a specific intention for harmonizing with your customers, your co-workers, family, friends, etc.

3)  JOY
This blend is one of Young Living’s signature essential oils. Originally to be named "Love". Place a drop of Joy into your left palm, rub your hands together, and slowly inhale the scent. Then place your hands on your heart.  The Bible reminds us, (Proverbs 4:23) Above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. (TPT)
Putting this oil on our heart is a deliberate way to focus, connect, and position your heart.   

4) WHITE ANGELICA
We often refer to this oil as Psalm 91 in a bottle.    This blend is known for its properties for it's properties of protection, like a bouncer for negative energy or disturbing thoughts. Place a drop of White Angelica in your left palm, rub your palms together and deeply inhale. Then gently brush your palms over the crown of your head, down your neck, shoulders, chest, torso, and all the way down your legs to your feet. Imagine this blend encasing your entire body, like a guardian shield. Again, revisit your intention for your day.

IDEALLY-
Start using the Great Day Protocol daily for just one week. Keep a journal of your feelings and accomplishments each day so that you can look back and see how you have changed throughout each of the days.
